Welcoming Amy, Our New PR Manager!
As part of our ongoing expansion, we’re pretty excited to be introducing a brand-new service into the mix; PR. Of course, with a brand-new service on offer, we needed a new team to help make sure that we got off on the right foot. As we’re now sat more behind a screen than ever before, we wanted to shine some light on our new members of the team, as they could become your Account Manager or a member of the team you work very closely with in the coming weeks or months.
We’ve interviewed Amy, our PR Manager, to provide you with some more insight into her background, experience and skill set.
What past experience do you have in marketing?
“I’ve worked across multiple marketing disciplines, from social media, email marketing and content to events, PR and advertising. Honing my skills and knowledge to be very specialised in what I do.”
Where did your passion begin?
“My passion for PR was born whilst I was working in a media house as a journalist. When our stories would ‘go viral’ and get covered by other publications it was a huge buzz. I loved it, and when I realised that you could do that as a career, I knew that was the role for me. Now my dreams are a reality, I’ve never looked back!”
What kind of projects have you worked on in the past, and which ones are you looking forward to getting stuck into?
“My past experiences have been incredibly varied, from property and law to fashion, travel and jewellery. I love taking on a new challenge, be that with some of the huge household names I’ve worked with, or tiny niche brands.
I have had the interesting job of doing the PR for some highly specialised companies, such as one that created the stands holding chip and pin machines (not the machine, just the stand), or another that created the glue that sticks the stickers to apples. Very niche!
I look forward to creating some big creative campaigns that get people talking and launching stunts that set us and our clients apart from the competition – and to have fun along the way!”
What skills do you have, and where have you applied them?
“I have a very creative mind and the ability to think of campaigns on a truly large scale, to find the best angles for campaigns for clients and brands alike. I have a great black book of journalists and a great knowledge of both sides of the industry so I will be implementing them to really push the needle going forward at Absolute Digital Media.”
