Melissa recently joined Absolute Digital Media’s team after spending 5 years working as a freelance writer and editor for clients all over the world. They are a Postgraduate Research student at Manchester Metropolitan University, examining the performance of gender and sexuality in live-action roleplay game systems through the lens of LGBTQIA+ players and their own experiences. They have a BA in Creative Writing, an MA in Transliteration (Poetry) & Screenwriting, and have experience teaching English as a second language to students in Asia. When they aren’t working or researching, they enjoy travelling, reading, and attending LARP games.
