Driving A 634% Increase In Conversions For Finance Client Loanbird

The Client.

Loan Bird is a UK-based loan broker. They operate across all types of unsecured loans including bad credit loans. As a credible brand, Loan Bird wanted to break the stigma surrounding loan applications. We worked closely with the team to come up with an effective SEO strategy that would enable them to do that whilst increasing their organic visibility to drive online applications.

Results.

We worked closely with Loanbird’s team to bring its visibility back in line with its competitors, focusing on undoing all the bad practices that were initially implemented on the site. Through focusing on resolving harmful links and cannibalisation across the site, we have seen a 510% surge in organic traffic and 634% increase in organic conversions to date.

The Objectives

Loanbird approached us wanting to generate more conversions, particularly around the “bad credit” industry. Through developing a robust content marketing, on-site technical health and link building strategy, we were able to quickly build momentum, improving the sites rankings for a wide range of key terms that supported the finance brands online visibility.

The Strategy.

We utilised 3 main tactics to drive the campaign: content, site health and link building. On approaching us, we identified that Loanbird’s website was suffering from a lot of cannibalisation with several pages competing for very close variants of the same keywords. We took all the variant pages and identified the best performing one before continuing to review the content across all other variants to make sure there was nothing missing from the page we were going to keep. We then redirected all the variants into the main version.

The Campaign.

As part of the ongoing SEO strategy, we also ran weekly crawls to improve the sites overall health. This helped to increase the sites organic traffic and improve keyword rankings, driving the website to the top of the search engine results pages. Loanbird’s website health has now achieved a top score, with new errors being resolved immediately to ensure they maintain a strong organic performance. Loanbird’s website also previously had a lot of harmful links which we believe to have significantly impact its SEO and organic rankings. Due to the quality of the site, we knew that it was struggling to recover from these bad practices during onboarding the client. With this in mind, we pushed a significant amount of resource into building high-quality links to effectively “drown out” bad-practice links in addition to disavowing them.
