Fast Loan UK approached us having been scarred by numerous bad experiences where deliverables were promised, and results not gained. Having heard of our previous success within the finance/payday loan sector, they wanted a final hit at improving their site’s visibility. Completing against well-established brands, we devised an effective search strategy that would skyrocket their organic visibility.

The Objectives

Fast Loan UK were keen to make their objectives clear – operating in a highly competitive market, they needed to achieve the results they had initially set out to support the growth of the business. This meant that we needed to work fast to ensure the campaign was profitable from the get-go.

The Strategy.

In an industry where complaints are commonplace but can result in significant damage to the brand, it was imperative that any each aspect of the campaign was 100% compliant and that the content itself was directed at informing the user rather than trying to sell them something to protect the brand whilst improving improve the quality of their leads.

The Campaign.

Fast Loan UK’s commitment to responsible lending remains a core value for the team and one that we wanted to continue to promote. We knew that our content needed to reflect this and the sensitivities of those facing a financial emergency. We began by conducting a keyword mapping file on the existing site pages to determine areas of cannibalisation which highlighted the need for future content optimisation. We were then able to highlight new opportunities across a variety of short- and long-tail keywords to effectively disperse new content pages. We also implemented FinancialProduct and FAQs schema with the intention of improving CTR and taking up more real estate in SERPs. Due to the restrictive nature of Fast Loan UK’s CMS, technical SEO fixes were key to improving performance. With many areas of the site, including meta data being hard coded, we worked closely with our internal development team as well as Fast Loan UK’s external development team to implement the most efficient technical fixes to maximise the available budget through a GIT system. We utilised an impact/effort ratio process to assess which areas to resolve first, prioritising the indexability, content and loading time issues in line with the Core Web Vitals announcement.
