01. What past experience do you have in marketing?
“Like most who take an Undergraduate Degree, you choose a course of which you have a general interest and work from there. In my case, Journalism and Creative Writing. I had worked a few office jobs following this, mostly admin and team assistance, but my real love was for brand development and brand creation. I love the process, and seeing a brand develop from grass root to a fully-fledged, prosperous company took my interest”.
02. Where did your passion begin?
“I’ve been a writer my entire life, starting at a very young age, writing stories for various local competitions and succeeding! I come from a creative family and have always loved wordplay, the malleability of language and, in particular, puns!
There’s really no “write or wrong” when it comes to wordplay… Sorry!”
03. What inspired you to start working within the industry?
“That’s where the beauty of social media became evident. I was scouted via Instagram to help with content creation, writing taglines and long copy for a brand creation agency, and it really went from there. I realised that marketing was the industry where my skills could really be utilised, allowing me to hone in on the development of my craft. From here, I was able to work with brands across a whole array of sectors, from health and wellness and packaged foods, to charitable organisations, sports brands and various other industries.”
04. What kind of projects have you worked on in the past, and which ones are you looking forward to getting stuck into?
“I’ve worked for numerous brands and companies, sometimes as a freelancer, other times under a pseudonym for other agencies. Health and wellness is one of my favourite industries to work for, but I wouldn’t say I have a specific favourite – they all have great potential. I love having the ability to work with tone of voice, either working with or without brand guidelines and being able to work with a new, exciting company, who have a passion for what they do.
At Absolute Digital Media, I recently began working on a project for Stelrad, which I’m hugely excited about as they’re a great company to work with. I’m looking forward to seeing this campaign through!”
05. What skills do you have, and where have you applied them?
“After completing my Undergraduate Degree, I completed my Master’s in Management and Digital business. This allowed me to use the creative elements I already had pre-existing and add a whole new level of knowledge to my portfolio, learning about ecommerce, SEO and the business side of life.
I’ve been able to compile these skills from a broad range of areas, working on projects for multinational companies. Having these skills will definitely come in handy when writing SEO optimised content for our clients.”
06. Any last comments?
“I’m looking forward to developing my skillset further with the team at Absolute Digital Media. They’re a group of people with a real passion for what they do, and oh, do they know their stuff!
It’s an honour to work with such a well-established company, and I’m truly excited to see what the future holds as we progress. Go A-Team!”
