Experience

Evi Dunphy’s experience

After completing her apprenticeship in 2023, she was promoted to lead the studio’s SEO offering and manage client accounts
Evi started her career through an apprenticeship. In 2022, she became the first employee and first digital marketing apprentice at a small web design studio in Devon, supporting local businesses across SEO, email marketing, social media and client communication. Working with smaller budgets taught her to focus on practical activity that delivered measurable value. After completing her apprenticeship in 2023, she was promoted to lead the studio’s SEO offering and manage client accounts. As the business grew, so did the scope of her work, moving from local independent businesses to national brands. She also supported and mentored the apprentices who joined after her. In 2024, Evi moved to a specialist SEO agency during a period of growth. She was promoted to Senior SEO Manager, managing 8 accounts while supporting a team of up to 10 people. She joined Absolute Digital Media in March 2025, where she continues to lead SEO strategy across a varied client portfolio.

What Evi does here

Evi leads SEO strategy across her accounts from end to end, rather than being brought in for isolated tasks

Evi leads SEO strategy across her accounts from end to end, rather than being brought in for isolated tasks. Her work includes keyword research and mapping, technical audits, on-page optimisation, schema, and monthly reporting that explains what changed, why it changed, and what should happen next.

Much of her work focuses on local search, particularly how websites are structured around locations and service areas, and what genuinely improves visibility in individual towns rather than at a national level. Within healthcare and insurance, she also works closely with compliance considerations to ensure pages are accurate, responsible, and clear about what they can claim.

Her role is highly collaborative. PPC, content, social, and web development often run alongside SEO, so a key part of her work is keeping those channels aligned and identifying changes that could unintentionally affect organic performance.

The bigger picture

What drives Evi

Credentials give people a reason to trust an answer; they are not a substitute for providing one

E-E-A-T in healthcare has increasingly become a box-ticking exercise: add a clinician’s name, include author schema and assume the page is now credible. But pages can have all of those signals in place and still fail to perform because the content underneath does not answer the user’s actual question, in the order they need it answered.

Credentials give people a reason to trust an answer; they are not a substitute for providing one. A named expert attached to a thin page is still a thin page.
