Digital PR for startups in Dubai and the UAE

Digital PR for startups, coverage your investors also read

Earned coverage does two jobs at once for a young company: it builds the authority search engines and AI assistants weigh, and it is what a buyer, a partner or an investor finds when they check whether you are real. The constraint is that a launch is not a story, so the campaign has to be built on something a journalist would run anyway.

    Why a specialist

Startup digital PR is not generalist digital PR

Digital PR is the practice of earning editorial coverage and the authoritative links that come with it through media relations, and for an early stage company it is doing double duty. The links and mentions build the authority that organic search and AI assistants weigh, while the coverage itself is the visible profile a buyer, a partner or a prospective investor uses to decide whether you are a going concern. The hard part is that a founding, a funding round or a product launch is only occasionally a story, so the campaign has to be built on data, an angle or a point of view a journalist would have run without you asking. In the UAE it also has to respect what you are permitted to claim: sector bodies decide which statements are available to you, and where a placement is paid for rather than earned it is advertising, with the permit and disclosure obligations that follow.

    Standards first

Digital PR that stands up to scrutiny

We build early stage PR around something a journalist would run anyway, because a young company cannot afford to spend its first impression with a desk on a press release about existing. In practice that usually means the founder point of view, a piece of proprietary data or an observation about the market that nobody has published yet. Claims are checked against what you can substantiate and what your sector permits before anything is pitched, since a correction is far more expensive than a slower campaign. If that is the standard you want, talk to our team.

    Questions

    Startup digital PR, answered

Is digital PR worth doing before we have traction?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on whether you have something to say rather than on your stage. A founder with a specific, defensible view of a market is pitchable long before the company has numbers worth publishing.

If there is genuinely nothing yet, we will say so and come back to it, because a weak first pitch costs you the desk for the next one.

Our funding round is the news. Is that enough?

Rarely on its own, because rounds are announced constantly and most read the same. What makes one land is the thing the money is being spent on, or a claim about the market that the round is evidence for.

We would also only publish figures you are content to be held to, since a number on the record does not go away.

How is digital PR different from link building?

Digital PR earns coverage through media relations, and the links follow from the coverage. Link building is the broader discipline of growing authority, of which PR is one route among several.

We run both, often together, and for a young domain the two are usually planned as one programme rather than separately.

Does coverage actually help with investors?

Indirectly, and more than founders expect, because due diligence starts with a search and what is written about you is what gets found. It is not a substitute for the numbers, but an absence of any independent coverage is itself noticed.

That is a reason to build a profile deliberately rather than to chase whatever will publish you.

Can we pay for placements to move faster?

You can, and it is a different product with different rules, because a paid placement is advertising rather than editorial and carries the permit and disclosure obligations that go with that. It also tends not to pass authority in the way earned coverage does.

Where paid placement genuinely reaches the right audience we will say so, and we will be clear about what it is buying you.

Which media should a UAE startup be aiming at?

It depends on who buys from you, and the honest answer is often trade and regional business titles rather than the largest consumer names. A relevant title read by your actual buyers is worth more than a bigger one that is not.

Where you sell across the Gulf rather than only the UAE, the target list changes, so it is worth saying so at the start.

How do you measure early stage digital PR?

On the quality and relevance of the coverage, the authority genuinely passed, referral behaviour and the search movement that follows, rather than a count of placements. A short honest list is more useful than a long one.

Where a figure is inferred rather than measured, the reporting says so, which matters when the same report goes to a board.
