Content for schools, written for a family mid-translation

A family arriving here is doing a translation exercise before they are doing a comparison. They need to know what your curriculum means for a child already part way through a different one, what your year groups correspond to, and what actually happens on a visit, and most school websites answer the third question and skip the first two.

    Why a specialist

Education content is not generalist content

Content for an institution is not a news feed. It is the curriculum pages, the year group explainers, the campus pages, the admissions and visit pages, and the handful of guides that help a family coming from another system work out whether their child can slot into yours. Each of those has to be written for somebody with no local reference points at all, which is a different writing problem from describing a school to people who already understand the landscape. It is one of the disciplines on our content offer, run for the institutions in our education work.

There is also a deadline rather than a schedule. The pages that matter have to be written, published and findable before an admissions window opens, because content that goes live while families are already deciding has missed the weeks it was written for. So we build the pages that recur, refresh them each cycle and keep the dated detail separate from the permanent detail, which is what stops the whole library going stale in one go.

    How the work runs

Answer the translation first, then sell the school

We start with the pages a family already lands on, because the curriculum page, the campus page and the admissions page carry more weight than anything we could add and are usually written for somebody who already understands the system. Then the explainers, which are the pieces that let a parent place their child before they place your school, and which almost nobody publishes because they feel too basic from the inside. Then the campus and visit pages, written so the practical detail is as easy to find as the atmosphere.

Finally the calendar, with the permanent detail kept separate from the dated detail so a single intake change does not stale the whole library. Talk to our team about which questions your site is currently leaving a parent to work out alone.

    Questions

    Education content, answered

What does education content actually include?

The curriculum pages, the year group explainers, the campus pages, the admissions and visit pages, and a small number of guides that help a family coming from another system establish whether their child can carry on where they left off.

What it usually does not include is a weekly news feed. Most institutions get far more from six good explainers than from fifty updates.

Why write explainers when parents already know what a curriculum is?

Because a great many of them genuinely do not, since they are arriving from a different system entirely and are trying to work out what your year groups and stages correspond to in the one their child has spent several years inside.

It feels too basic from the inside of a school. It is the single most useful thing you can publish.

How does the admissions calendar affect the writing?

It turns content into something with a deadline, because the weeks a family spends shortlisting are the only weeks the page exists for, and anything that goes live during them has already missed most of the audience it was written to reach.

So the writing happens in the quiet months. We plan backwards from the window rather than forwards from a brief.

Should every campus have its own pages?

Yes, because parents filter hard on the journey and a group page serving three campuses at once describes none of them well enough for a family to judge whether the daily drive is realistic for them.

Each campus page carries its own location detail, its own year groups and its own visit route. That is also how it gets found separately.

How do we stop the site going stale after every intake?

By separating the permanent detail from the dated detail when the pages are built, so an intake date or a year group change can be updated in one place instead of silently contradicting itself across a dozen pages.

We build the recurring pages to be refreshed rather than rewritten. The same URLs earn their position again each cycle.

    Do we need Arabic content?

English carries most commercial search across the UAE and the majority of family research happens in it, so it comes first for most institutions, though Arabic earns its place quickly for particular communities and segments.

Our delivery today is in English. If Arabic is central to your intake, say so at the outset and we will scope it properly rather than treat it as a translation task.

    Does content work alongside SEO?

Yes, and in this sector it is the pairing that produces the compounding part of the growth, because content is what actually ranks for the curriculum and comparison searches once the structure and campus pages are right.

It runs directly with our SEO for Education work and feeds the social calendar at the same time.
