SEO for law firms, built around the question, not the practice area

A client with a problem does not search for a law firm, they search for the problem, and they do it long before they have any idea which system their matter belongs to. Organic search for a practice is the work of being the page that answers that question, then being credible in the ten minutes afterwards when they look you up.

    Why a specialist

Law firm SEO is not generalist SEO

Law firm SEO is organic search for a buyer who cannot describe what they need in your language. They have a contract that has gone wrong, an employer who has stopped paying, or a property purchase that has stalled, and they type exactly that. So the site is organised around matters and questions rather than around the practice area list on your letterhead, and the pages are written to be found by somebody who does not yet know what kind of lawyer they are looking for. It is one of the disciplines on our SEO offer, run for the practices in our legal work.

Two things make this market different from a European brief. The mainland, the DIFC and ADGM run as separate systems with their own courts, so the same question has more than one answer and the firm that explains which applies is doing marketing and client service in the same paragraph. And the head terms carry almost no volume at all, which means a plan built on ranking for law firm dubai is a plan built on nothing.

    How the work runs

Answer the question, then survive the check

We start with the questions your clients actually ask, in the words they actually use, which is almost never the language of a practice area page. Those become the architecture: one page per matter type, the jurisdiction question answered where it arises, and the technical and local foundations corrected underneath so that each office is findable in its own right.

Then the half most firms neglect, which is what somebody finds when they look up the lawyer they are about to call, because a legal enquiry is checked before it is made. Reporting runs on enquiries and matters opened rather than on sessions. Talk to our team about which client questions you are absent from today.

    Law firm SEO, answered

    What is law firm SEO?

It is the work of ranking a practice in organic search for the things a client types before they have chosen a lawyer, which is almost always the problem they have rather than the practice area that problem belongs to. It sits alongside the profile and reputation work rather than replacing it.

The ordering matters. A client who cannot find you never gets to judge you, and a client who finds you and then finds nothing about the lawyer stops there.

Is SEO worth it when the search volumes are this small?

The volumes are genuinely small and we would rather be straight about it, because the combined demand across every legal marketing term in this market is modest and no Dubai qualified variant of it carries meaningful volume at all. The value sits in what one matter is worth, not in how many visits arrive.

A page that quietly brings in two matters a month pays for itself many times over in this sector. That calculation is the reason we keep the vertical rather than any traffic forecast.

Should the site be organised by practice area?

Not primarily, because a practice area list describes the way your firm is organised internally and a client arriving with a stalled property purchase or an unpaid salary has no way of knowing which of those headings their problem belongs under. The practice area pages stay, but they stop being the front door.

Underneath them we build a page for each matter type, written the way a client would describe it. Those are the pages that get found.

Does the DIFC and ADGM difference affect SEO?

It affects almost everything on the page, because the mainland, the DIFC and ADGM operate as separate systems with their own courts, and a client arriving with a contract or employment question frequently has no idea which of the three applies to them. A firm that explains it clearly earns the enquiry on the strength of the explanation.

For a practice working across all three it is the clearest differentiator available. For one working in a single system, it is how you stop spending time on enquiries you were never going to take.

We have offices in more than one emirate. Does that change the work?

It changes the local half of it considerably, because there are no postcodes in the UAE and each office has to be listed accurately in its own right, with Dubai and several northern emirates using Makani while Abu Dhabi uses Onwani. Each office also needs a page of its own rather than a line on a contact page.

Firms lose local visibility to small inconsistencies far more often than to competitors. A name spelled slightly differently across two listings is enough to do it.

How long before we see anything?

Technical corrections and profile work can show inside a few weeks because you are fixing information a client already sees, but the question led content that actually opens matters compounds across months rather than days. Anybody promising faster in a category this considered is describing a different kind of business.

The compensation is that it holds. Authority built properly in a legal market tends to stay built, which is why short engagements rarely make sense here.

    Do we need Arabic pages?

Less often than firms assume, since English carries the majority of commercial and professional search across the UAE, though Arabic earns its place quickly for family matters, for work alongside government entities and for established family owned groups. English comes first for most practices.

Our own delivery today is in English. Where Arabic is genuinely central we will say so at the outset rather than treat it as a translation job at the end.

Do individual lawyer profiles matter for search?

More than most firms expect, because a client who has found the firm will almost always look up the person they are about to speak to, and a thin biography at that moment undoes the work of the page that brought them in. Those profiles also rank in their own right for named searches.

We treat them as commercial landing pages rather than as an internal directory. That means matter types, credentials and a route to contact that person directly.
