Link building for startups in Dubai and the UAE

Link building for startups, authority built from zero

A new domain has no authority, which is the single biggest reason it cannot yet compete with incumbents, and the only durable fix is links that were genuinely earned. That is slower than buying them, and it is the difference between a domain that compounds and one that has to be rescued in its second year.

    Why a specialist

Startup link building is not generalist link building

Link building is the discipline of growing the authority a domain needs before it can compete, and starting from zero changes both the method and the stakes. A young company has very little to protect in rankings and a great deal to lose in time, so a manual action or an algorithmic correction discovered in year two arrives precisely when you are trying to show growth to a board. That rules out networks, farms and anything that leaves a footprint, and it puts the emphasis on a small number of genuinely relevant, editorially given links from sources that would survive a manual review. In practice most of those come from having something worth citing, which is why link building for an early stage company is planned alongside content and digital PR rather than bought as a monthly quantity.

It is one of the services on our regulated industry link building offer, run for the early stage companies on our startups page.

Link building that would survive a review

We build authority for early stage companies the slow way, because the fast way is a liability attached to the only domain you have. Every link is earned on relevance and editorial merit, sourced from places your category would recognise, and we do not use private blog networks, link farms or schemes that leave a footprint. Where the honest answer is that you have nothing worth citing yet, we will say so and start with the thing that fixes that instead. If that is the standard you want, talk to our team.

    Questions

    Startup link building, answered

Should a startup invest in links at all this early?

At a modest level, yes, because authority is the one part of organic search that budget cannot accelerate later, so time spent early is worth more than money spent late. It does not need to be the priority channel to be worth starting.

What it should not be is a large monthly quantity bought before there is anything on the site worth linking to.

Can we just buy links to catch up faster?

You can, and we will not do it, because a purchased profile attached to your only domain is a risk you carry for as long as the company exists. The correction usually lands a year or two later, which is the worst possible moment for a growing company.

Everything we build is earned and would stand up to a manual review.

How is this different from digital PR?

They overlap heavily. Digital PR earns coverage through media relations and links follow from it, while link building is the wider discipline of growing authority, including relevance, internal structure and sources PR would not reach.

For a young domain we usually plan them as one programme, because the same asset often serves both.

How many links does a new domain need?

It is the wrong unit, and any agency quoting a monthly number is selling a quantity rather than an outcome. What matters is relevance and authority relative to whoever currently ranks for the terms you want.

We benchmark against those competitors and talk in terms of the gap rather than a target count.

Do we need something worth linking to first?

Usually, yes, and it is the most common reason early link building stalls. Editorial links are given to pages that are genuinely useful or citable, so a site with nothing but product pages has very little to earn them with.

Where that is the position, we would rather build the asset first than pretend outreach will work without one.

Do local UAE links matter, or is any authority fine?

Relevance beats geography, but local and regional sources do help when your buyers are here, because they corroborate that the company is real and operating in this market. That matters more for a young brand than for an established one.

Where you sell across the Gulf rather than only the UAE, the sensible source list widens accordingly.

How do you report link building to a board?

On the authority earned, the relevance of the sources and the ranking movement that follows, rather than a list of placements. A short honest set is more useful than a long one nobody can interpret.

Where a figure is inferred rather than measured, the reporting says so, because that is the kind of thing investors notice.
